Although part of a beautiful Highland forest, Nairn Camping and Caravanning Club is level and sheltered in a beautiful natural spot. You might even be lucky enough to spot a red squirrel on site or deer in the woods.
The nearby town of Nairn offers a variety of attractions and hosts a number of events, including a Book and Arts Festival, International Jazz Festival and food and drink festival known as the Highland Feast. The town also has a sandy, accessible - and Blue Flag-rated - beach, two golf courses, theatre and museum. In August it stages Scotland's only free-entry Highland Games. Non-members welcome.
Open from 1 April to 31 October

Further afield the vibrant new city of Inverness is around 15 miles away. Here you can explore its old town or enjoy walks to discover the Caledonian Canal and the River Ness. Nature lovers will enjoy the opportunity to take a boat trip from Inverness to see the school of resident bottle-nose dolphins on the Moray Firth.
